HEALING Chronic LYME DISEASE with HERBS

WHAT IS CHRONIC LYME?

There is a large population of people who were infected by the Borrelia Burgdorferi bacteria, which causes Lyme disease, that do not recover. Following antibiotics their symptoms may temporarily improve or only partially improve. They present with severe pain, severe fatigue, cognitive issues and more. These symptoms affect their daily capacity to function. Patients often bounce from Doctor to Doctor and test to test with no results of what is causing these issues. Doctors often prescribe anti-depressants. If it is not understood that the cause is Chronic Lyme they go untreated.

HOW COMMON IS CHRONIC LYME?

Over 400,000 people in the US alone are diagnosed with Lyme disease. The percentage varies but many say 30-45% of those patients continue to have chronic symptoms of severe pain and fatigue after treatment with antibiotics.

THE SMART BORELLIA Bacteria

The Borellia Burgdorferi bacteria, Bb is smart. I know we don’t often look at bacteria as being smart, but they actually are. They create a community, like a small city and communicate with each other via Quorum sensing to coordinate their efforts to protect themselves. Bb travels to distal tissues in the body following the initial tick bite. It forms a ball, or persister and protects itself with a biofilm. It is believed that once this occurs antibiotics are no longer helpful, although they often are in the early infection.

HOW I MADE MY FORMULA AND WHY

I started my work with Lyme disease 14 years ago when my husband was diagnosed with it and was in severe pain in his neck and lower back. He quickly developed cognitive issues, which included brain fog. He did not want to take antibiotics. As an herbalist Lyme was new to me and I must admit a bit daunting, but I had to help him. I remember sitting outside, meditating, knowing that herbs grow where and when you need them. At this point in my career I was an intuitive herbalist, in addition to my academic studies of the plants. I came up with a formula and did step one in its creation. I gave it to my husband and within 2 months all of his symptoms were gone. I told a friend who had chronic Lyme, following multiple rounds of antibiotics and she took it and felt better in 2 months time. You know how the story goes, they told two friends and they told two friends and so on. The next thing I knew people were calling and saying they heard about the formula and could they stop by and get some.

My friend Barrie owns the local herbal store, Happy Rainbows, and said she wanted to sell it and suggested I do some research on it. I began writing down what people’s symptoms were before they took the formula, during and after and was so happy to hear that out of 100 people 98 had significant improvements in pain and fatigue and some with brain fog. The two that it did not help had other severe issues which would make it hard to even tell if the formula worked or not.

RESEARCH AND NUTRITION

I decided to go back to school for my Master’s degree in nutrition and wound up at the University of Bridgeport. I approached them about working on my research there and explained what I had done so far. I have to tell you that I did not expect all the support and help that followed. The Entrepreneur Center and the research coordinator aided me in getting grants to get more data on my work. With all of this support I dove deeper into why this remedy was helping. I got is lab tested for safety and analyzed via High Performance Liquid Chromatography.

WHAT DOES IT DO

The herbs in this remedy break biofilms at a pace the body can handle. They are naturally antibiotic and anti-inflammatory.

NUTRITION

After my degree I began a whole Lyme Program that involved nutrition and supplements as well as the formula. I found that this added bonus helped the body to be strong and stay strong in order to fight infections now and in the future.
